A drawing of a youn Raggiana Bird of PAradise flat skin. There are no bones in the specimen I used, so the feathers are a bit out of wack. I did this to study the way the feather shapes change up and down the wing. The head is of a Red Bird of Paradise round skin. Location: San Diego Natural History Mueseum. Thank you Mr. Phil Unitt!

I spent days plucking the wing of a deceased cockatiel to learn about feather layering. This is my favorite drawing! I later learned that what I was observing from the plucking is called Pterolysis.

A tanuki/kistsune mixbreed named Sendiri falls slowly into deep clear water...for whatever reason. And for the same reason, cherry blossoms glow blue. Character design is Wolf Nymp's, image done for the Yerf trading post. The lanterns were inspired by the Myst games.

I've always dreamt of creating something like this, and with the fantasy fair coming up I wanted to give it a try. Both parts used where damaged. The mouse was dragged in by the neighborhood cat and was missing bits of the head, and the bird came from a breeder and died during molting and was thus missing the rump feathers. ~To whom it may concern, (please read before accusing me of anything!) The animals used in this project died a natural cause. NONE of the animals I work on are killed for the purpose of taxidermy only and most are found along side the road or come from bird/animal breeders in the area.

This is an older piece but it's still so gosh-darn sugary cute it can rot your teeth. :D I couldn't resist. Done in Painter, I believe. BTW, a big wave hello to all the familiar faces! I don't have the time to draw very often, but I'll try to do enough so I can update here more than just once in a blue moon.
